The key to capture an outstanding photographic image is being prepared. The more you understand your subject and techniques the easier it is to capture the final image.

For almost a decade now, I’ve been working on and off with a prominent commercial automobile photographer. Being in the studio working with the cars lead to a deeper understanding behind the machines and the people who make and drive them. And even better than being in the studio was being on location! This put me in the position of needing to be on the road, sometimes in some very fun exotic cars! The Mercades CLK-63 Black Series, Ferrari 458, Dodge Viper, Aston Martin Vantage and the Audi R8 all left very memorable experiences and made me fall in love with the road. The curves it has sweeps effortlessly through the mountains like a ribbon draped across the landscape. How could you not fall in love with the road when you’re driving a machine that was designed to enjoy it? The muse that spawned the series, “The Road” was made of metal and had rubber shoes. If I had never been behind the wheel of a manual, 700 hp beast, I never would have created these images. This series is a tribute to the road, because without it, those cars wouldn’t be any fun.          Slideshow
